Baby Quilt
I don’t remember the pattern name for this quilt, but I believe it was based off of 9 piece quilt designs. I learned how to make it as part of a quilting class designed to allow people to make a quilt in a day. We were able to work quickly by piecing together long strips of fabric and cutting them down to the size needed for each block, rather than cutting every small piece and then piecing them all together. I chose to use a Japanese fabric as my background fabric, which added some great movement to the quilt. The ribbons look like they dance from block to block, and they pull in the colors of the two edgings for added impact.
For the backing fabric I chose another Japanese fabric that tied in the colors used on the front, as well as more of the ribbon and swirl imagery.
